Aster is a plant consumable in Fallout 76 used initially to make tea-based drinks at cooking stations. The Wild Appalachia update saw the Brewing Station and Fermenter additions and added Aster to several alcohol-based recipes.
When Aster plants are nuked, they become Red Hot Bloom that produces Raw Crimson Flux rather than Aster. Consuming Aster has a minimal effect and should be combined in a recipe to increase its potency.

Where Can I Find Aster in Fallout 76?
Aster is found most commonly near cemeteries, roadsides, and gardens. North of the Whitesprings Resort spawn point, there are well over twenty plants that you can harvest under the protection of the resident robots guarding the area.
While the Whitesprings Resort is a great location, you can take advantage of several other locations if players have already looted the resort.
Relay Tower EL-B1-02
You’ll find this remote relay tower in the southern part of the Savage Divide very close to the Cranberry Bog. You will need to clear some enemies from the area. Nothing more than the usual Scorched or Super Mutants. Heading northeast from the northeast corner of the building, you’ll find two Aster plants among the logs.
Whitespring Resort
The Whitespring Resort is likely the most prominent location in all of Appalachia. The area to the north of the spawn point is littered with Aster plants. Check all the flower beds that line the paths. You’ll quickly find twenty plants in the area, and you’ll be guarded by the robot staff that resides here.
Philippi Battlefield Cemetery
This cemetery in the Toxic Valley borders the Savage Divide in the far north. Turning to the northwest and heading into the graveyard, you’ll have to deal with some minor enemies. Amongst the headstones in the cemetery, you’ll find up to six Aster plants.
Palace of the Winding Path
This grand palace in the northern part of the Savage Divide stands in stark contrast to other buildings in Appalachia. On the palace’s north side is a garden where you’ll find carrots, tatos, blackberries, and eleven Aster plants. If you search the flower beds lining the paths around the building, you will turn up a few more Aster plants.
Prickett’s Fort
Prickett’s Fort is one of the farthest northern locations on the map, right on the Toxic Valley and Savage Divide border. From the waypoint, head toward the road to the northwest. Next to the electrical pole is one Aster plant. Continue northwest to find the next plant nearby and the third near a fallen tree.
Arktos Pharma
Arktos Pharma is in the Forest to the southeast of Vault 76. In the northwest of Arktos on the map between an acid deposit and a scavenger camp. There are fifteen Aster plants around Arktos Pharma that I was able to find. They are a little hard to spot. Be sure to check out my video above to see where they all are.
